Champagne Soiree Collar

Few of us, no matter our age, have not seen the photo from Breakfast at Tiffany's in which Audrey Hepburn stands outside Tiffany's in a black evening dress looking through the windows of the exclusive New York jewelry store.  Hair swept up in a fashionable up-do, Hepburn wears an impressive piece of pearl costume jewelry around her neck, multiple strands of large imitation pearls that symbolize wealth and glamour to which she aspires.  That iconic image says it all: Pearls make the woman.

While not a replica, this necklace is reminiscent of the one in that image.  Four strands of quality freshwater pearls in peach and mauve shades are woven in a right angle weave stitch with champagne seed beads as enhancement.  The central components is completely stitched using a Swarovski crystal rivoli surrounded by picots of Swarovski crystals, pearls and seed beads in complimentary understated hues, adding depth.  A decorative sterling silver tab clasp ends the piece.

Because freshwater pearls are a natural material, they will vary slightly in size and color.
